This ring set completes the story in four pieces.
The theme is “Rod.” Among its many meanings, I focused on the meaning of “roots.”
Many Japanese family names come from nature.
My parents’ family names contain four characters in total: “山 (Yama),” meaning mountain; “澤 (Sawa),” meaning mossy stream; “杉 (Sugi),” meaning cedar; and “田 (Ta),” meaning rice field.
Each of these four kanji characters is represented by a ring.
I chose rings because I have always felt an invisible thread connecting me, through my fingertips, to my father, mother, and ancestors. If any part of my body is truly connected by something unseen, I believe it would be my fingertips.
